Hall of Shame
Whether it be for pandering, demagoguery or for egregious betrayals of the public interest, these inductees into the Hall of Shame have demonstrated the depths to which today's Republican "public servants" have sunk.  Their treason is that they deliberately encourage and exploit the ignorance of the electorate.  Can our democratic republic survive this pornocracy?

In the field of GOP bastardy, few can compare with the malevolent influence of the GOP House majority leader. Known as "The Hammer," this Texas power broker maintains tight control of his "peers" through his prodigious fundraising (he apparently lets lobbyists write their own legislation). DeLay can make generous campaign contributions to members who will vote his party line, and can punish opponents within his own party by financing primary challenges. One suspects even his best "friends" hate him. For a litany of DeLay's offenses against the interests of the American people, read Cheryl Seal's "The Crimes of Tom DeLay."
